One of the significant changes in the atmosphere in Jefferson's administration was the number of common people involved int he government. The first six presidents were <em>cut from the same cloth</em>, wealthy, educated and from the East. In contrast, Thomas Jefferson was a self-made man who believed that education was unnecessary to be in politics. It was because of this ideal that more common people were involved in government during Jefferson's term.
