Why did Nikita Khrushchev order the construction of the Berlin wall?
Lapatulllka [165]

Answer:

C.) to divide the communist and democratic parts of Berlin

Explanation:

Khrushchev ordered a construction of the Berlin Wall because he wanted to separate the communist and the democratic parts of the city. The communists where well known fro putting on barriers, be it physical or political where their zones of interest were bordering the ones of their enemies. In order to stop the spread of the democratic ideas in their area and thus having social problems and unrest to deal with, the Soviets decided to to put a physical barrier, thus stopping the people to communicate, move between the two parts of the city, or even see each other.

Based on your knowledge why are partisanship and a two party system significant parts of US politics
Stolb23 [73]

Because there are only two major parties, US citizens feel that they only have a choice between one party or the other.

Because there are only two major parties, the parties tend to disagree greatly on many issues, taking either one extreme side of the argument or the other.

At times, there have been attempts to create a viable third party, but these parties rarely have enough support to be on an equal footing with the two main parties.
