<span>The answer is the Americas specifically Mexico.  It was a popular drink by the Olmecs, Mayans and Aztecs.  Explorers such as Columbus and Cortez discovered cholocate .  Later it was introduced in the Spanish court and later imported to Spain.  When taken with sugar and honey, chocolate became popular.</span>
