According to the latest UN populations predictions, the world population will peak around the year 2050 with 11 billion people. After that year, it will begin a slow decline. This projection depends largely on the fertility rates of Africa. Africa is currently the continent with the highest average number of births per woman, and even if the fertility rate is expected to decline, it is expected to do so at a slow pace. Depending on the velocity of this decline, those UN projections will be achieved.
