All these forms of documentation are equally important for the case, so none have to be overlooked in favor of another.

Taking notes of the information that is being collected, photographs and sometimes videos of the crime scene, as well as sketches (approximate drawings) of it, are methods that subsequently help investigators to reconstruct the crime.
