Further Explanation

Passive voice is a form of sentence in which the subject of the sentence receives the action, not taking action. Unlike active voice that focuses on the party doing the action (doer of the action), this form is more focused on the party or object that receives the result of an action (receiver of the action).

Generally, active sentences can be transformed into passive sentences in the form of active sentences containing transitive verbs (verbs that require direct objects) such as make, bring, buy, write and so on. Conversely, passive sentences that contain intransitive verbs (verbs that do not require direct objects) such as cry, swim, go, arrive, and die cannot be converted into passive sentences.

However, if the intransitive verbs are followed by prepositions, it is possible that the sentence can be converted into passive sentences but the passive sentences formed will be very rigid.

Passive voice is used to show interest in someone or object that is subject to action and not someone or object that is doing the action. So, the most important thing or person will be the subject of the sentence. Sometimes, we use passive sentences because we don't know or don't want to state who is doing the action. Passive sentences are often used in formal texts. Turning it into an active sentence will make your writing clearer and easier to read. If you want to say who or what is doing an action in a passive sentence, we use the preposition by. When we find out who did the action and are interested in the subject, we better change it to active sentences.

 • Passive infinitive sentences are used after verb modal (verb capital), and other verbs are usually followed by the infinitive.
 • The gerund is used after the preposition, and the verb is usually followed by a gerund.
 • To be born is a passive form and is usually used in the past tense form. However, in some cases, present or future tense can be used.

lutik1710 [3]

Waverly manages to fulfill the expectations of her mother to master "the art of the invisible force", applying that ancient Chinese popular wisdom in the struggle of forces between them. Waverly's mother wants her children to be able to develop in American society and all she has to offer is her modest wisdom and the strength of her character, which are imposed on the way she dresses and feeds her children, in the form of impelling her to go further away, minimizing those that for her, like the girl she is, are powerful moments that reveal her full potential.

It suddenly becomes clear to Waverly that the mother's efforts to help her children are not enough and then she understands, after her unfortunate escape and the strong words of the discussion with her mother, that she is ready to start applying a subtle strategy until she gets to earn her respect for the passion for chess and in general, to find her own place in the world, which ultimately is always the struggle of children against their parents to play that subtle balance between obedience and the search for their one's own identity.

The clues are in the descriptions of the dress, the origin and meaning of the names of the three children and even in the mother's handling of the language as a broken English.

1. How is Lennie innocent and prove it
2. How is Lennie kind and prove it
Jet001 [13]

Explanation:

Lennie Small is huge and lumbering and, in many ways, the opposite of George Milton. Where George has sharp features and definite lines, Lennie is "shapeless." Often he is described in terms of animals. He lumbers like a bear and has the strength of a bear, but his actions are often described like those of a dog.

Is sentence 'James while John had had had had had had had had had had had a better effect on the teacher' grammatically correct?
zheka24 [161]
Yes, it certainly can be when it's properly punctuated.

The statement looks back on a day last week, when the teacher was grading
essays written by James and John. It tells of one particular sentence in the
essays, almost identically worded in both essays, except for one word difference.

James ... while John had had "had" ... had had "had had". "Had had" had had
a better effect on their teacher.
