In this lesson, we've gone over the major ethnic and religious group in Iraq. Although there are other, smaller groups within the country, the three major ethnic groups in Iraq are Arabs, Kurds, and Turkmens. Arabs in Iraq can be further divided into Sunni Arabs and Shiite Arabs.
Iraq is home to diverse ethnic groups including Arabs, Kurds, Assyrians, Turkmen, Shabakis, Yazidis, Armenians, Mandaeans, Circassians, Sabians and Kawliya. Around 99% of the country's 38 million citizens are Muslims, with small minorities of Christians, Yarsans, Yezidis and Mandeans also present.
Density of the animal population Animal population is the only biotic or living factor. Grazing by herbivores, like sea turtles, will affect seagrass populations. Too many herbivores, not enough segrass.
