The answer is false.

Although an infinitive phrase shares something in common with a prepositional phrase in the sense that it starts with the preposition "to", they do not have the same function.

Their forms are also different:

While infinitive phrases are made by the preposition "to" and followed by a verb in infinitive form, prepositional phrases are made of any preposition and followed by a noun or a pronoun.

Prepositional phrases indicate places, times, reasons, etc. and can be placed at the end of the sentence or at the beginning followed by a comma. Infinitive phrases can also be placed at the beginning of a sentence followed by a comma and at the end, but it can also be placed in the middle and it always expresses a purpose or a reason.

Prepositions have a broader meaning, as they can talk about time periods, places and agents.

Rewrite using a possessive noun. The novel by Charles
sweet-ann [11.9K]

Answer:

Charles' novel

Explanation:

In "The novel by Charles", the possessive noun should be 'Charles' because Charles wrote the novel, therefore it belongs to him.

<u>When indicating possession, add apostrophe and the letter "s"</u> at the end of the possessive noun : 's

You would think it looks like this: Charles's novel

However, there is another rule. <u>When a word ends with the letter "s", you only put the apostrophe</u> and do not need the second s.

Charles' novel

Webster, Worcester, and Bouvier all define a citizen to be a person in the United States, entitled to vote and hold office.
Crazy boy [7]
At first glance, the passage seems like an appeal to ethos because of the name dropping. However, if one looks at the question that follows the statement, you can clearly see that it is an appeal to logos. As it persuades the audience to use their logic to come up with the answer to the question.
