Answer: When Nature selects a variation, that means the trait gets passed along from generation to generation.

Explanation: The trait might not be beneficial to the species, but that won't stop it from passing it down from parent to offspring. We don't know if the variation will bring a new species, or cause the population to shrink. We don't even know if it will help the prey escape predators. But we do know that all traits are passed along from generation to generation.

Photosynthesis makes the glucose that is used in cellular respiration to make ATP. The glucose is then turned back into carbon dioxide, which is used in photosynthesis. While water is broken down to form oxygen during photosynthesis, in cellular respiration oxygen is combined with hydrogen to form water.
