The headright system

The headright system caused an increasing difference between wealthy landowners and worker in Jamestown. The headright system was originally created in 1618 in Jamestown, Virginia. It was applied as a way to attract new settlers to the region and address the labor shortage, with the rise of tobacco farming, a large supply of workers was wanted, and as more people came into the region, it later increased tensions between Native Americans and colonists, enslaved servants were granted lands, which was near the natives, this migration produced conflict between the natives and the enslaved servants.

The headright system also resulted in the wealthy becoming wealthier with no benefit to the laborers.

Why did John Jay believe the Articles of Confederation were failing?
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

After the American Revolution, Jay believed in a strong central government than that created by the Articles of the Confederation, the first constitution of the United States. One of his chief gripes with the Articles of Confederation was America's lack of unity on trade: the national Congress could promise countries like France or Spain access to shipping ports, but without an executive branch to enforce the promises, any of the states could ignore the rules.

The preservation of Roman law was the greatest contribution to civilization made by the _____
stich3 [128]

Answer: Roman law is the legal system of ancient Rome, including the legal developments spanning over a thousand years of jurisprudence, from the Twelve Tables (c. 449 BC), to the Corpus Juris Civilis (AD 529) ordered by Eastern Roman Emperor Justinian I. Roman law forms the basic framework for civil law, the most widely used legal system today, and the terms are sometimes used synonymously. The historical importance of Roman law is reflected by the continued use of Latin legal terminology in many legal systems influenced by it, including common law.
