"I will not pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands." This must be

the statement of thousands of Puerto Ricans living in the island today, wishing that their small island would once and for all become free from the colonization of the United States. Puerto Rico has been living under U.S. domination for the past 92 years and it’s considered the last nation in Latin America that is still living in colonization. Puerto Ricans want to be free and should be allowed to be free; to have the opportunity to vote for the president who sends its young people to war, to have their own currency, to fly one flag in all their schools and finally to feel pride in being an independent nation and not labeled by terms like “territory” and “commonwealth”. Puerto Rico ought to be independent and refuse commonwealth to the United States of America. Choose the best concluding statement for the paragraph. A) Puerto Rico ought to be independent and refuse commonwealth with the United States of America. B) Puerto Rico's independence is ultimately an internal question, entirely the affair of its citizens. C) In spite of some good arguments for independence, Puerto Rico is better off staying a part of the USA. D) There are some excellent arguments for Puerto Rico to go independent, and some good arguments for them to remain a commonwealth as well.

Answer: Puerto Rico's independence is ultimately an internal question, entirely the affair of its citizens.

Puerto Rico’s independence ultimately depend on the citizens, if they truly want to be independent , they will fight for their independence from the United State of America. Puerto Rico has been colonized by the United State of America for the past 92 years and it’s considered the last nation in Latin America that is still living in colonization. Puerto Ricans want to be free and should be allowed to be free; to have the opportunity to vote for the president who sends its young people to war, to have their own currency, to fly one flag in all their schools and finally to feel pride in being an independent nation and not labeled by terms like “territory” and “commonwealth”.

Nitella [24]

Answer:

The sentence "Free nations will press on to victory" relates to the central idea in the sense that:

b. It supports the main point that this is an ongoing fight that America will not abandon.

Explanation:

President Bush addresses how America has declared war against terror, and how that battle shall continue for as long as is necessary. Even though the troops are going home after serving, the mission continues. Terror is not over and, therefore, the war against it is also not over. America, as the free nation it is, will not accept terror to instigate fear among its people or to curb that people's freedom. When he says, "Free nations will press on to victory," he is supporting that point, the main one: the mission continues, the war against terror is not over. America will keep on fighting.
