Habit is to custom as transition is to _____.

English

Habit is to custom as transition is to volta. The correct option to fit the blank is VOLTA.

i will provide an explanation: In a sonnet, a volta refers to a turn of a thought or an argument. The Volta constitutes a significant part of a sonnet due to the fact it helps with transition, and it normally appears between the octave and the sestet of the sonnet - or if the sonnet is Shakespearean - before the final couplet.

This is an idea for you:
Mary, in the beginning of the book, is selfish, spoiled, and pampered, but she changes throughout the book with Dickon's and the robin's help. In turn, she helped Colin, who was the same as she was when she was younger. Her change helped her help others, like Colin, to become more out looking for others and help become more kind to others.

This is just my perspective. Hope it helps!

Read "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?" given by Frederick Douglass. The following passage is an excerpt from the addres
Ksju [112]
1.What about Douglass' speech strikes you as unique or memorable?

Douglas' s speech to me dictated the sorrow many slaves felt on the fourth of July even as the White people celebrated. In the following passage, the most notable mention of this idea to me is evident. "Fellow citizens, above your national, tumultuous joy, I hear the mournful wail of millions, whose chains, heavy and grievous yesterday, are today rendered more intolerable by the jubilant shouts that reach them." In the excerpt, Douglas calls the chains of the slaves more intolerable than the jubilant shouts. Douglas means that the fourth of July was a day of freedom, yet slaves in America were still present and were saddened by the day as it symbolised the lie that was independence day.

1. What rights or power did women have in early Japan? How did this change over time?
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

While women in Japan were recognized as having equal legal rights to men after World War II, economic conditions for women remain unbalanced.[3] Modern policy initiatives to encourage motherhood and workplace participation have had mixed results.[4]

While a high percentage of Japanese women are college graduates, making up 77% of the part-time work force,[5] they typically earn 27% less than their male counterparts.[6] Traditional expectations for married women and mothers are cited as a barrier to full economic equality.[7] The monarchy is strictly males-only and a princess has to give up her royal status when she marries a commoner.
