Toni and Marcy partnered together in running laps around a track to raise money for the Children's Hospital's playroom. Toni rai

sed $20 plus $0.80 per lap that he ran. Marcy raised $15 plus $0.85 per lap that she ran. Toni swam 114114 times as many laps as Marcy swam. Together they raised a total of $257.00. Let x represent the number of laps Marcy swam. Enter the simplified equation that represents the total number of laps Toni and Marcy swam in the first box and the amount of laps Toni swam in the second box.

I am assuming that 114114 is actually 114.

Toni: 20 + 0.80/lap
Marcy: 15 + 0.85/lap

Marcy: x laps
Toni: 114x laps

[20 + 0.80(114x)] + [15 + 0.85x] = 257
20 + 91.2x + 15 + 0.85x = 257
92.05x = 257 - 35
92.05x = 222
x = 222/92.05
x = 2.41 laps

Marcy: x = 2.41 laps
Toni: 114x = 114(2.41) = 274.74 laps

20 + 0.80(274.74) = 20 + 219.79 = 239.79 or 240
15 + 0.85(2.41) = 15 + 2.05 = 17.05 or 17

240 + 17 = 257

What is the nth term of the sequence -2 -8 -18 -32 -50
andreev551 [17]

Answer:

-2n²

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the image attached:
We see that the second differences (blue ones) are all equal so we conclude that this is a quadratic sequence.
The quadratic sequence has the form:
T_{n} = an^{2}  +bn +c

To find the value of a we just divide second difference ( -4 ) by 2:

  • a = \frac{-4}{2}= -2

Now we have:

  • T_{n}= -2n^{2}  +bn+c

Substitute n_{1} and n_{2} into the equation above:

  • T_{1} = -2(1)^{2}  +b(1) +c
  • T_{2} = -2(2)^{2}  +b(2)+c

Since T_{1} = -2 and T_{2} = -8 , after simplification we have:

  • b +c =0
  • 2b+c=0

The solution of this system is:

  • b=0, c =0

The general term is :

T_{n} = -2n^{2}

Select all the examples of categorical data. colors number of siblings favorite pet profits genre of music
bulgar [2K]

Answer:

Color, favorite pet, genre of music

Step-by-step explanation:

Categorical variables are simply statistical variables which are non - numeric, usually employed in characterization and groupings based on a certain number of fixed attributes, categories. In the options atated above, the categorical variables fall under a heading with a limited and fixed attributes such as color, pet and genre of music. However, options such as number of siblings and profit are purely numeric variables which can take up any numeric digits and allow for direct numeric computation. They are called quantitative variables.

The price of a ceramic bead necklace (Y) is directly proportional to the number of beads (x) on the necklace. Using the graph, w
Annette [7]

Answer: C) (1,0.80) represents the unit rate. E) (25,20) represents the price of a necklace with 25 beads

Step-by-step explanation:

(1, 0.80) represents the unit rate.

(25, 20) represents the price of a necklace with 25 beads.

\frac{y}{x} = unit rate → \frac{4}{5} = 0.80; \frac{12}{15} = 0.80; \frac{16}{20} = 0.80

Point (1, r) → (1, 0.80) represents the unit rate.

25(0.80) = 20; thus, (25, 20) represents the price of 25 beads.

Hope this helps
