Answer:

793 food hampers were distributed

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to find how many food hampers were distributed in a typical week, knowing that

 • 200 hampers were distributed on Mondays

40 fewer hampers were distributed on Tuesdays than on Mondays, thus:

 • 160 hampers were distributed on Tuesdays

on Wednesdays, the volume is 1.3 times Tuesday’s volume, thus 160*1.3=

 • 208 hampers were distributed on Wednesdays

on Thursdays the number of hampers distributed was 3/4 of Monday’s volume, thus 3/4*200=

 • 150 hampers were distributed on Thursdays

on Fridays, 50% of Thursday’s volume was distributed, therefore 50%*150=

 • 75 hampers were distributed on Fridays

The total number of food hampers distributed in the week is

200+160+208+150+75=793

793 food hampers were distributed

50% decrease then 100% increase: same as the original; the number is halved then that new number is doubled, which brings it back to the original, x * 2 * ¹/₂ = x (¹/₂ and 2 cancel out)

50% increase then 33¹/₃% decrease: same as the original; x * ³/₂ * ²/₃ = x (³/₂ and ²/₃ cancel out)

20% increase then 25% decrease: less than the original ; x * ⁶/₅ * ³/₄ = ⁹/₁₀x

$10 increase then $10 decrease: same as the original; x + 10 - 10 = x

25% increase then 20% decrease: same as the original; x * ⁵/₄ * ⁴/₅ = x

Question 13 (1 point),
Firlakuza [10]

13: Since f(1)=10, the sequence must start with 10. We have only one sequence starting with 10, and indeed it verifies f(n+1)=f(n)-2, i.e. the next term is 2 less than the previous one.

14: If y varies directly with x, then there is a constant of variation k such that

\dfrac{y}{x}=k \iff y=kx

In your case, F varies directly with m, with a constant of variation of 32.2, so we have

F=32.2m
