Answer:

<h2>First function is linear.</h2><h2>Second function is neither.</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

To know if a function is linear, its points have to change with the same ration, which is called the slope.

If we try this for both function, we could know if they are linear.

<h3>First function</h3>

We are gonna calculate the slope for the first two points and the other two points.

m=\frac{31-11}{3-1}=\frac{20}{2}=10\\  m=\frac{51-31}{5-3}=\frac{20}{2}=10

As you can observe, the first function is linear, because points change with the same ratio of 10.

<h3>Second function.</h3>

We do the same with the second function to find out if it's linear.

m=\frac{5-2}{2-0}=\frac{3}{2}\\  m=\frac{9-5}{4-2}=\frac{4}{2}=2

This means that the second function is not linear. Let's find out if it's exponential then. To do that, we have to calculate its percentage of change (PC),  to be an exponential function, the first two points and the last two points must have the same percentage of change (PC):

PC=\frac{major-minor}{minor}\\PC=\frac{5-2}{2}=\frac{3}{2}\\\\\PC=\frac{9-5}{5}=\frac{4}{5}

AS you can observe, the percentage of change is not the same.

This means that the second function is neither a linear function or exponential function.

Delilah does 841 jumping jacks in 4 minutes. She does her jumping jacks at a constant rate. How many jumping jacks can Delilah d
STatiana [176]

841 jumping jacks per 4 minutes

\frac{841~jumping~jacks}{4~minutes}

Divide both sides by 4.

\frac{841}{4} \div \frac{4}{4} = \frac{210.25}{1}

Delilah can do 210.25 (or 210) jumping jacks per minute.

The measures of two angles in a triangle are 32o and 78o. Which of the following equations could be used to find the measure of
Korvikt [17]

Answer:

32+78+x=180

Step-by-step explanation:

All triangle angles add up to 180, so add 78 and 32 then subtract it from 180 to get x, which in another form is 32+78+x=180.

Write the equation of the line in fully simplified slope-intercept form
DochEvi [55]

Answer:

y = 3x - 7

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope - Intercept Form :  y = mx+b

m = slope

b = y - intercept

Slope =  \frac{rise}{run}

          = \frac3{1}

          = 3

So far:   y = 3x + b

Plug in a point from the graph, ex. (3,2)

2 = 3(3) + b\\\\2 = 9 + b\\\\b = -7

Equation :   y = 3x - 7

A certain freely falling object, released from rest, requires 1.50 s to travel the last 30.0 m before it hit the ground. a.Find
Lyrx [107]
A.)
<span>s= 30m
u = ? ( initial velocity of the object )
a = 9.81 m/s^2 ( accn of free fall )
t = 1.5 s
s = ut + 1/2 at^2
\[u = \frac{ S - 1/2 a t^2 }{ t }\]
\[u = \frac{ 30 - ( 0.5 \times 9.81 \times 1.5^2) }{ 1.5 } \]
\[u = 12.6 m/s\]
</span>
b.)
<span>s = ut + 1/2 a t^2
u = 0 ,
s = 1/2 a t^2
\[s = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } \times a \times t ^{2}\]
\[s = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } \times 9.81 \times \left( \frac{ 12.6 }{ 9.81 } \right)^{2}\]
\[s = 8.0917...\]
\[therfore total distance = 8.0917 + 30 = 38.0917.. = 38.1 m \] </span>
