In 1564 Fort Caroline – a National Memorial Park was an endeavored French Colonial Settlement in Florida which located on the banks of the St. Johns River. It was established under the supremacy of René Goulaine de Laudonnière way back June 22, 1564, in French Florida and a safe sanctuary for Huguenots.
