Lake Balkhash is a body water between Kazakhstan and China that covers around 16,000 km. This lake is known because different from most lakes it's water composition differs in the eastern and western sections. Indeed, the eastern section of the lake includes mainly saline water with a concentration of salt around 2.94 g/L, while the western section is freshwater, which means it has a low concentration of salt. Also, both sections of the lake are separated by a strait that causes salinity and other features of the water are different on each side.
