Most of the New Deal programs were found unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. To circumvent that Roosevelt tried to pack the court with justices which would have been in favor of his policies.

Earlier a new immigrant would have to stay in the United States for five years before enhancing qualified to vote, but a different law advanced this to 14 years.

A senate composed of patricians elected these consuls. At this time, lower-class citizens, or plebeians, had virtually no say in the government.
