Communication requires an assertive way of transmitting ideas. In order for a message to be delivered properly, the social context must be considered. The right option is C. An essay is oftentimes a formal letter with an opinion included, addressed to an academic audience. There are exceptions indeed, but in the case of language arts, a linguistic dexterity requires to be demonstrated. The principal of a school is an authority and educational senior responsible for an institution and should be addressed in accordance. And a computer manual demmands proper and specific technicisms to instruct a user, or solve a doubt about the use of the computer. A formal convention in the contexts aforementioned is essential.

adelina 88 [10]
The correct option is B.

You can test if there are two independent clauses by separating the clauses and seeing if they can stand alone.

They hadn't planned the trip.  They returned to the store the next day and bought more peanut brittle.

Since the the two clauses can stand alone, there are two independent clauses.

Two independent clauses constitute a compound sentence.
