The length of a rectangular carpet is 4 times its width. the area of the carpet is 144 square feet. what is the length of the carpet?

The length is 24 and the width is 6.

I did a little guess and check here, as when I algebraically solved it, the answers did not make sense.  However, the length (24) is 4 times the width (6), and 24 times 6 is 144, so it works!
