When a bill is approved by both the House and the Senate, the bill is sent to the President for signature in order to become a law. However, the President may decide to sign it, not to sign it or to veto the bill. If he or she vetoes the bill, it is sent back to Congress and the Congress has the power to override the President's decision, ONLY IF the bill is voted on by two-thirds members in the chamber that originated the bill, and two-thirds members in the other chamber.
