The two main areas of dispute were Korea and Manchuria. By 1904, the Japanese had decided that the Russians threatened their ambitions in China and Korea. Both Russia and Japan had imperial ambitions over the territories where they fought - Manchuria and Korea. On February 8, Japanese warships devastated the Russian fleet. The Japanese then occupied the Korean peninsula and drove the Russians back into Manchuria. With the Treaty of Portsmouth, signed on September 5, 1905, the concessions all went to the Japanese. Russia acknowledged Japan’s “predominant political, military, and economic interests in Korea” (Japan would annex the kingdom in 1910), and both powers agreed to evacuate Manchuria.

Compare Anaya's grandfather when he was younger to his final days in "A Celebration of Grandfathers." How does the explanation o
gavmur [86]

Answer:

The changes that Anaya's grandfather reflect the idea that people should accept, enjoy and participate in aging because it is a natural thing in life.

Explanation:

When we play Anaya's grandfather and the changes he undergoes over time, we can see that growing old is natural to our lives and that these changes cannot be stopped. This shows us that although many of us are afraid of aging, we will have to go through this and for that reason, we should, like her grandfather, celebrate, participate, respect and enjoy each stage of our life.

Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer:

Yes, we do need to limit ourselves with social media... It is like, controlling us bc we gave into it and we cant help ourselves anymore. It affects kids by making them do bad things and a lot of it is not that appropriate. Especially for little kids.

Refer to the Newsela article "Alas, Shakespeare Won't Be Taught in This Class."
STatiana [176]

Answer: to provide an example of one teacher's efforts to make Shakespeare more relatable to students.

Explanation:

The aforementioned article is based on the opinion of a high school teacher named Dana Dusbiber in Sacramento who does not believe that teaching Shakespeare in this day and age is still relevant due to the world increasingly accepting other cultures.

The author then wrote this section in the article to show the exam of Christine Baker who is also a Sacramento High School teacher who holds the belief that Shakespeare might be old-fashioned, but it shouldn't be scrapped. It should be modernized because the lessons still apply to the present period.
