Answer:

In geology, the rivers' main role is erosion and deposition, while for humanity, they have been crucial for the survival and development.

Explanation:

The rivers are water bodies (almost always of freshwater) and they have an influence on many things, be it of living or non-living nature. Physically, the big influence of the rivers can be seen in geology. The socio-economic and existential influence can easily be seen with humans.

In geology, the rivers have a big influence because of their big erosive power and their carrying capacity. Basically, the rivers destroy the rock strata, but also carry the material and pile it up at another place. At humanity, the rivers have been crucial for the survival of the species, but they have also enabled humans to produce their own food, develop civilization, and prosper.

Why did Montenegro initially sign the Carrington Plan and then later change their vote?
HACTEHA [7]

Answer and explanation:

The President of the Presidency of the Republic of Montenegro, Momir Bulatović,  with the previously obtained consent and authority of the Parliament of the Republic of Montenegro to do so, accepted Carrington's peace plan, and the presidents of all member republics rejected that plan.

Under various, numerous and serious threats and coercion by Slobodan Milosevic and exponents of his regime, generals, loyal politicians, and media pressure, harassment and satanization of Momir Bulatovic's case in The Hague on October 18, 1991, Bulatovic's signature was soon withdrawn from the Hague Document. What is a population pyramind?
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

The population pyramid is a graphical depiction of age and sex structure of population in a certain region ( usually state).

Explanation:

Pyramid is not the most adequate term since it`s two-dimensional and has a shape of a triangle. Left side of this triangle represents males and the right side females. This pyramid is presented with a set of bars which are pilled one on another. The bars are longer on the base and shorter on the top, hence the shape of a triangle. Each bar represents a certain age range. The lowest bar represents the range from 0 to 4 years. The one above from 5 to 9 years, the next from 10 to 14 years and so on. The length of a bar represents the number or the percentage of that range in the given population.

The pyramid population is regarded as one of the best ways to visualize age structure in both sexes.

Explain how the Von Thunen Model describes an urban/rural set up, and what is included in each ring of the model. (Site 1)
zmey [24]

The Von Thunen model of agricultural land use was created by Von Thunen himself in 1826 in a book called “The Isolated State.” Being a farmer, he developed this model into an analytical tool that could be manipulated to explain rural-land use patterns. His sole intention was to analyze the distribution of different types of agricultural activities across the landscape.

The Von Thunen Model describes an urban rural setup with the following limiting assumptions

1. That the city is centrally located within an isolated state that has no external influences and is self-sufficient.

2. That an unoccupied wilderness surrounds the isolated state.

3. That the state's land is completely flat and there are no mountains or rivers to interrupt the terrain.

4. That the climate and soil quality are consistent throughout the entire state.

5. That the farmers in the isolated state will transport their goods to the market through oxcart, across the land, and is directly to the center of the city. Thus, there are no roads.

The Four Rings

1. First ring - the ring that is closest to the city and is dedicated to market gardening intensive dairy farming

2. Second ring – Dedicated to the production and harvest of forest products for building materials and fuel

3. Third ring - includes extensive field crops like grains for bread

4. Fourth or final ring  - Livestock and ranching
