Written by Stephen Crane, An Episode of War, narrates the journey of a lieutenant that gets hurt in the arm, when he meets the doctor in the hospital the arm had been long hurt and exposed, at first he greeted him kindly but as soon as he saw that he was injured he tries to get him closer to take a look at the injury, he then realizes that he will have to amputate the arm so he tries to be as kind adn sympathetic as he can.
