There are five forces which play major roles in contributing to such genetic variations. They include mutation, natural selection, gene flow, genetic drift, and non random mating. In terms of fitness, only natural selection strives to make the individual more fit to the environment.

If there is not enough action potential, then the neuron will not be able to send signals because the action potential does not fire because of the deficit.
