Answer: See explanation

Explanation:

a. Pass the necessary journal entry to record the acquisition.

Check the attachment. Note that common shares was calculated as:

= $800,000 × 1.5

= $1,200,000

b. Determine the amount of goodwill (or bargain purchase) arising out of the acquisition.

Fair value of assets acquired = $2,640,000

Less: fair value of liabilities = (720,000)

Net asset of S. LTD = 1,920,000

Purchase consideration = 1,000,000 + 1,200,000 = 2,200,000

Goodwill on acquisition will be:

= $2,200,000 - $1,920,000

= $280,000

c. Pass the necessary consolidation entry to eliminate the subsidiary by the parent company

Check the attachment

d. Determine the amount of goodwill (or bargain purchase) arising out of the acquisition if the purchase

consideration paid was $1,000,000 cash and 400,000 shares each valued at $1.50.

Fair value of assets acquired = $2,640,000

Less: fair value of liabilities = (720,000)

Net asset of S. Ltd = 1,920,000

Purchase consideration = (1,000,000 + 400,000) × 1.5 = 1,600,000

Bargain purchase on the acquisition will be:

= 1,920,000 - 1,600,000

= $320,000

How do you work out gross profit on a calculator?
marin [14]

Make a cost-of-sales estimate. COGS. Determine how much money you make from selling the products. To calculate gross profit, deduct the cost of items from revenue.

Divide the result by revenue now. To calculate gross profit as a percentage, multiply it by 100. Gross profit is a metric reflecting how effectively a business uses labour and revenue to produce items or provide services to customers. You can better comprehend revenue-generating costs by looking at gross profit. The profit equation can be written as Profit = Revenue - Cost in its most basic form. Costs comprise both variable costs and fixed costs.

True or False?
LiRa [457]
False. Here, the potential employer either calls or emails you "regarding the interview" not to have an actual interview" which is typically done face to face and in person. The employer asks the potential employee questions related to the job position to find out if he/she is qualified for the position,. Additionally, this allows the employer an opportunity to "see" this person, which is helpful for further evaluation.

If the manufacturer of Cool Whip were to introduce an orange-flavored Cool Whip and still continue to produce all of its other C
AlexFokin [52]

Answer:

B. Line extension

Explanation:

Product Line Extension

This involves the use of an already established brand name, in this case, cool whip for a new item (orange flavored cool whip) in the same product category. It's the production of a new product that is a little different to a company's existing products. The differences the new product usually has from the existing products may be in the line of new flavour, colors, product size, added ingredients and so on.

A popular example of this is Coke and Pepsi releasing Diet Coke and Pepsi respectively. Adding a new product to their existing range of products.
