Antigone's major goal is to  bury Polynices.

Polunices is her brother who died in a battle. The burial of Polynices is forbidden by King Creon, who ascended to the Trone of Thebes.

In the end Antigone is imprisoned and kills herself not knowing that she would be pardoned.

World War ll really set the stage for the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950's and 1960's. It was really a set forward toward equality. African Americans were given more job opportunities since many white men were fighting overseas. Also, for those serving in the war, President Franklin Roosevelt issued an order for all branches of the military and every unit to be integrated. No longer did blacks have their own regiments.
