PLEASE HELP FAST! Ranch’s usual streak of silliness shown in his earlier novels takes a back seat in Sleeping Upside-Down. While

the situations in the novel are very funny, the characters seem ordinary and sincere in their reactions. During rainstorms, for instance, the shift key on Kate’s keyboard becomes stuck. Her initial attempts to e-mail a cute boy in her class seem even more uncomfortable with the added emphasis: “WOULD YOU GET ICE CREAM WITH ME TOMORROW? I AM NOT YELLING.” Ranch adds a hint of his strange humor to many of Kate’s everyday actions.
Why does the author believe that Ranch’s usual streak of silliness takes a back seat in Sleeping Upside-Down?

A) The characters seem sincere in their reactions.

B) The talking bat adds to the attraction of the story.

C) The characters of the talking bat and Kate blend well.

D) Kate is a serious girl who secretly resents her parents.

D because it says so in the paragraph. just trust me

I would argue that it’s NOT D. Nowhere in the text are her parents mentioned. “Just trust me” is very misleading. I think it is A. That’s mentioned in the story.

Why might have the author decided to include the scene with Dinitia and the swimming pool? How might this
Alik [6]

Hello. You forgot to mention that this question is about "The Glass Castle".

Answer:

The author decided to include the scene with Dinitia and the pool to show how the blacks who already suffered a lot of discrimination were more tolerant of people with bad life situations. This is a defining moment in Jeannette's life, because it allows her to befriend and allows her to recognize tolerant, friendly and good behaviors.

Explanation:

The Glass Castle is a book written by Jeannette Walls, where she tells the stories of her childhood, living in a dangerous environment, with dysfunctional parents and intense family problems. In this story the author Jeannette tells how the other children refused her company at the pool because they said that she lived in the garbage (the house she lived in was very old and worn out) and that it would be a source of illness, since she had a family situation and economics so bad. Jeannette is very sad about the situation, but finds a friendship with Dinitia who says that she can use the pool with black children.

Jeannette is well received by black people who use the pool, since they understand what it is like to be discriminated against, besides, she makes a good friendship with Dinitia, which influences her childhood positively.

According to Kambili, why do people refer to Father Benedict as "our new priest," despite having been at the church for years?
BartSMP [9]

Answer:

Because he looked very young.

Explanation:

This question is about "Purple Hibiscus."

People refer to Father Benedict as "our new priest", despite having been in the church for years because he looks young. This is because he has very different features from the features presented by the population. This is because the standard did not have as hard experiences as most church members who had to work in conditions that promoted premature aging. The priest's face was well preserved and very beautiful for the society's standard of beauty.
