They probably don't like the label of "hispanic" or Latino" because most kids grow up to be conscious about what others think about them. This question can go many ways. Why they feel this way is for them to answer. However, you can make an <em>inference</em> on why they feel like this. Personally as a "hispanic" I don't like to be defined by that because, Hispanics heritage can be very embarrassing. Most people think that hispanics won't go to college and they'll end up homeless. On the other hand, hispanics have great music, their entire culture is eye catching. So again, you can make an inference, or an assumption, unless they answer why, you'll never really know nor understand why the feel this way.
