On a vacation in Puerto Rico, Rose jumped off a cliff into a river in EL Yunque Forest Reserve. Her height as a function of time

could be modeled by the function h(t)=-16t^2 + 16t + 480, where t is the time after jumping in seconds and h is the height in feet. How many seconds did it take Rose to hit the water? Round your answer to the nearest hundredth

H(t) = -16t² + 16 t + 480

Factor out -16
-16(t² - t - 30)
t² - t - 30
(t + 5)(t - 6) ⇒ t(t-6) + 5(t-6) ⇒ t² -6t + 5t - 30 ⇒ t² - t - 30

t + 5 = 0           t - 6 = 0
t = -5                t = 6

The value of t is either -5 or 6 however time can't be measured in negative form; then, it took Rose 6 seconds to hit the water.

mash [69]
THE ANSWER IS 49.50

Because if you divide 55 and 10 it gives you 5.5. So with that answer you just subtract to the price of the jeans giving you 49.50

I NEED HELP ON QUESTION B AND C ASAP.
ipn [44]

Answer:

  • See below

Step-by-step explanation:

<h3>Part B</h3>

Assumed the dimensions of the top and bottom parts are identical.

Since the cylindrical part has total height of 1.8 cm and the hemisphere volume is transferred to bottom part and the cone part is still full, the value of h is the difference of the total height of cylinder and full part of the top section of cylinder:

  • h = 1.8 cm - 0.3 cm = 1.5 cm
<h3>Part C</h3>

Find the volume of sand in the bottom part. It consists of a hemisphere and a cylinder of 1.5 cm height.

  • V(cylinder) = πr²h = 3.14*(2.6/2)²*1.5 ≈ 7.96 cm³
  • V(hemisphere) = 2/3πr³ = 2/3*3.14*(2.6/2)³ ≈ 4.6 cm³

<u>Total sand in the bottom part:</u>

  • 7.96 + 4.6 = 12.56 cm³

<u>Time taken:</u>

  • 12.56 / 0.05 = 251.2 seconds = 4 min 11.2 seconds

Solve the proportional equation 3/r = 5/r+3
romanna [79]

Answer:

r=9/2 or 4.5

Step-by-step explanation:

First of all our goal is to get R by itself

by cross multiplying we get,

(r+3)*3=5r

by distributive property we get

3r+9=5r

substracting 3r from both sides we get

9=2r

by dividing by 2 in both sides we get

r=9/2 or 4.5
