veral pounds of a mixture that is 20% peanuts and 80% almonds. Let p represent the number of pounds of peanuts needed to make the new mixture, and let m represent the number of pounds of the 80% almond-20% peanut mixture.
(a) What is the system that models this solution?
(b) Which of the following is a solution to the system: 4 lb peanuts and 6 lb mixture; 5 lb peanuts and 5 lb mixture; 8 lb peanuts and 2 lb mixture? Show your work.

Answer:

If there is "p" pounds of peanuts and "m" pounds of '20% peanuts and 80% almonds' mixture, then, we can get the following equations,

p + m = 10 -----------(1) and

4m/5 = 4 ------------(2)

whose solution is 5 lb peanuts and 5 lb mixture.

Step-by-step explanation:

In the mixture which Delaney wants to make there would be

\frac {10 \times 60}{100} lb

= 6 lb of peanuts

So, there will be (10 - 6) lb

= 4 lb of almonds

If  Delaney has "p" pounds of peanuts and "m" pounds of the '20% peanuts and 80% almonds' mixture, then according to the question,

p + m = 10 -----------(1) and

4m/5 = 4 ------------(2)

So, from (2),

m = 5 --------------(3)

So, from (1) and (3) ,

p = (10 - 5) = 5

Nikolay [14]

Answer:

There are 3 red marbles.

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio of red marbles to blue marbles is 3:2, so for every two blue marbles there are three red marbles. This means that there are three red marbles for every four marbles in the bag. Therefore, if there are five marbles in the bag, there must be three red marbles and two blue marbles.

Twice the difference of a number + -3 is 4 find the number
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

The number is 5

Step-by-step explanation:

If we need to find the hidden number, Which for simplicity's sake we will denote as "n", lets first write out the equation.

"2 x [n + (-3)] = 4"

We can work through this problem backwards. if we need two times the sum of "n" and (-3) to get to 4, the only number that can be multiplied by 2 to get a product of 4 is 2, so "n" + (-3) must equal 2. so, From here, we can figure out that since 5 + (-3) equals 2, "n" Must equal 5. so, if we plug in 5 for "n" the equation looks like this:

"2 x [5 + (-3)] = 4"

So, since the equation makes sense, the answer is, "n = 5"

When graphed, the three lines y = -x + 2, y = 2x − 1, and y = x − 2 intersect in such a way that they form a triangle.
ad-work [718]

The answer is C

Insert y=X-2 into the equation y=-X+2

You will get the point (2,0)

Insert y=2X-1 into the same equation

you will get the point (1,1).

Without solving for the last point

you will realize that your answer is C

Note: This approach is appropriate for solving objective questions

FIND THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE TWO POINTS<br> A(0, 0), B(6, 8)
Alex

Answer:

10

Step-by-step explanation:

Mathematical Formula: \sqrt{\left(x_2-x_1\right)^2+\left(y_2-y_1\right)^2}

Therefore: \sqrt{\left(6-0\right)^2+\left(8-0\right)^2}

Which = 10
