A pair of basketball shoes's normal price is $120. Jordan bought it at a discount of 10%. He had to pay 8% tax on the discounted
Alekssandra [29.7K]

Answer:

$17.50

Step-by-step explanation:

If the shoes are discounted at 10%, the price would be 90% of the original price

Discounted price = 0.9 x 120 = 108

Tax increases the price of the good. so, the discounted price would increase by 8%

1.08 x 108 =116.64

If Jordan pays 15% as a down payment, he would pay :

0.15 x 116.64 = 17.496

Can you guys help me with these 3 questions
IceJOKER [234]

10. Not sure what the question is. Looks like it could be to write 9/5 in decimal form? In that case, we have 1/5 = 0.2, so 9/5 = 9*0.2 = 1.8

11. 52.\overline{23}=52.232323\ldots. If we round to 5 decimal places, the approximate value is 52.23232

12. By long division, we can show that \dfrac{4.3}9=0.4777\ldots. In repeated decimal notation, that's 0.4\overline7

Neil ran 5.5 miles in 1 hour. if he continues running at the same pace, how far will he have run in 7.25 hours? Round to the nea
Novosadov [1.4K]
Initially to make the problem a bit more manageable ignore the .25 hours and just solve for 7 hours.
If he runs 5.5 miles per hour this would be considered his rate. So you can multiply 5.5 miles by the 7 hours he ran. This will give you the distance he ran after 7 hours.  But in the problem he runs for an extra quarter of an hour so how do we include this in our answer.
First, figure out the rate of how far he runs every quarter of an hour. To compute this take your original rate 5.5 mi/hr and divide it by 4 to get it in terms of quarters of an hour: 5.5/4 = 1.375 <--- add this to your previous answer to get the total distance he ran.
