The character of Dolphus Raymond belongs in the fictional novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" He's a privileged white man that is considered an outcast in Maycomb because he befriends black people and is even in a biracial relationship.

Even though he's fighting racial preconceptions in Maycomb, he's not doing it in a courageous way. He fakes an alcohol addiction so he can be around his partner and other black people but the truth is that he doesn't even drink. He took a cowardly way to confront racism in his town.
