Katie has read 34% of a book. If she read 85 pages, does she have more than or fewer than 125 pages left to read? Explain
mestny [16]
Determine the percent of book she hasn't read.
percent = 100% - percent she has read
percent = 100% - 34%
percent = 66%
She hasn't read 66% of the book.

Find the amount of page she hasn't read.
page = $ \dfrac{\text{percent hasn't read}}{\text{percent has read}} \times\ \text{page has read}$
page = $ \dfrac{66\%}{34\%} \times\ 85$
page = $ \dfrac{66}{34} \times\ 85$
page = \dfrac{5,610}{85}
page = 165

The number of page she hasn't read is 165. It's more than 125.

Find the measure of angle x in the figure below: (1 point)
Goshia [24]
Answer is C) 51

Angle y is 62 degrees because it forms a straight line with the angles next to it (57 and 61) so angle y must be 62.

There are 180 degrees in a triangle so 180-62-67 = 51
