The <em><u>correct answer</u></em> is:

The arcs must intersect in order to connect to the vertex of the angle.

Explanation:

When constructing an angle bisector, we open our compass to any width, and place the point of the compass on the vertex of the angle. We then construct an arc through both sides of the angle.

Next we move the compass to the point where our constructed arc intersects one side of the angle. We then draw an arc inside of the angle.

Using the compass set to the same width, we move the compass to the point where our first arc intersects the other side of the angle, drawing an arc inside of the angle. This new arc will intersect our previous arc, creating a point.

We then use a straightedge to connect this point to the vertex of the angle, giving us our bisector.

If the two arcs did not intersect, we would not have a point to connect to the vertex.

The arcs have to intersect to give a point which will connect to the vertex of the angle that you are bisecting.

Scott used 1 3 tablespoons of salt to make 1 4 liters of beans. If Scott's recipe is for 1 liter of beans, how much salt will he
olasank [31]

Answer:

B) 4 tablespoons of salt

Step-by-step explanation:

Here is the correct question: Scott used 1/3 tablespoons of salt to make 1/4 liters of beans. If Scott's recipe is for 1 liter of beans, how much salt will he need to make triple the recipe?

Given is the ratio of salt and beans to make recipe for 1 liter of beans.

Ratio given for 1 liters of beans; \frac{salt}{beans} = \frac{\frac{1}{3} }{\frac{1}{4} }.

Now, simplifying the ratio

\frac{\frac{1}{3} }{\frac{1}{4} }= \frac{1}{3} \times \frac{4}{1}

∴ Ratio for salt and bean in a recipe for 1 liter of beans is \frac{4}{3}.

Next, finding the proportion of salt to make triple the recipe.

Triple the recipe means 3 times of 1 liter of beans, which is 3 liters of beans.

∴ The proportion of salt in 3 liter beans= \frac{4\ tablespoon\ salt}{3\ tablespoon\ beans} \times 3\ lts\ of\ beans

Hence, 4 tablespoon of salt is required to make 3 liters of beans or triple the recipe.

angle c and angle d are supplementary angles. angle c is 5 times as large as angle d.what is measure of angle c?
svetlana [45]
C + d = 180°(supplementary angle)
C = 5d
5d + d = 180°
6d = 180°
d = 180°/6
d = 30°
Since C = 5d,
C = 5 x 30°
Therefore, C = 150°
Hope this helps
