Question:

A local hamburger shop sold a combined total of 695 hamburgers and cheeseburgers on Sunday. There were 55 fewer cheeseburgers sold than hamburgers. How many hamburgers were sold on Sunday?

Answer:

375 hamburgers and 320 cheese burgers were sold

Solution:

Let "a" be the number of hamburgers sold

Let "b" be the number of cheese burgers sold

Local hamburger shop sold a combined total of 695 hamburgers and cheeseburgers on Sunday

Therefore,

a + b = 695 ------------ eqn 1

There were 55 fewer cheeseburgers sold than hamburgers

Number of cheese burgers sold = number of hamburgers - 55

b = a - 55 --------- eqn 2

Let us solve eqn 1 and eqn 2

Substitute eqn 2 in eqn 1

a + a - 55 = 695

2a = 695 + 55

2a = 750

a = 375

Substitute a = 375 in eqn 2

b = 375 - 55

b = 320

Thus 375 hamburgers and 320 cheese burgers were sold

Determining angle side relationships What are the angle measures in trainable ABC?
9966 [12]

Answer:

m∠A=90°, m∠B=60°, m∠C=30°

Step-by-step explanation:

step 1

Verify if the triangle ABC is a right triangle

Applying the Pythagoras theorem

12^{2}=6^{2}+(6\sqrt{3})^{2}

144=144 ----> is true

therefore

Is a right triangle

m∠A=90°

Find the measure of angle C

sin(C)=AB/BC

substitute

sin(C)=6/12=1/2

so

m∠C=30°

Find the measure of angle B

we know that

m∠C+m∠B=90°------> by complementary angles

so

m∠B=90°-30°=60°
