This was as a result of the new farming methods that was introduced at that time. Food production increased and as a result, people lived healthier and longer. The population had it's first significant change between the 18th century and the 19th. There was a remarkable global population spike around the 20th century, from about 1.5 billion at the start of the century to 6 billion at the end of it. Based on the data, we can predict that global population will be between 10 and 13 billion at the year 2100.
