The Utrecht Psalter is a ninth-century manuscript that represents Carolingianart. It is particularly famous for the 166 pen illustrations that accompany each psalm and other texts in the manuscript. The manuscript also had a profound influence on Anglo-Saxon Art. This manuscript does not however depict Matthew the Evangelist.
