So the permutation formula is

N!/(n-r)!

In your case n=8 (or the number of thing you are choosing from)
And r=3 (the number of things you are choosing)

Carrie is driving to a friend’s house for the weekend. The friend lives in a town 160 mi. away. So far, Carrie has driven 64 mi.
ankoles [38]

Divide the amount she drove by the total amount she needs to drive, them multiply that answer by 100 to make it a percent. This will give you the percentage she drove. To find the percentage she has left,, subtract from 100%.

64 / 160 = 0.4

0.4 * 100 = 40%  (  percent she has already driven)

100% - 40% = 60% left.

Please help!
70+23x-5+110+14x=360 (please show step bc I need to turn in work-paper) Thank you!
daser333 [38]

x = 5

explanation

70 + 23x - 5 + 110 + 14x = 360

first you group the like terms

23x + 14x + 70 - 5 + 110 = 360

then combine the like terms

23x + 14x    70 - 5 + 110

37x + 175 = 360

subtract 175 from both sides

175 - 175 = 0     360 - 175 = 185

to get

37x = 185

divide both sides by 37

37x/37 = 0     185/37= 5

which gives you

x = 5

Find line tangent to y=xcosx at point (pi, -pi)
slamgirl [31]
1) slope of the line = derivative of the of the function at the given point.

y' = cosx - x cosx

Evaluate for x = pi => y' = cos(pi) - pi*cos(pi) = -1 - (pi*cos(pi)) = -1 + pi

Then slope = -1 + pi

Given point: (pi, -pi)

Equation:

y - (-pi) = [-1+ pi] (x - pi)

y + pi = -x +pi + xpi -pi^2

y = (pi-1)x - pi^2      .... this is the answer
