Got impeached due to revealing secret government material, was put on trail against the United States for revealing the White House tapes, but one good thing he did was he ended the Vietnam war which was going on for quite some time already. Although Nixon had several achievements during his term, he is best remembered for being accused of his involvement in the Watergate Scandal, an event that increased American's skepticism about government.

The Watergate scandal was the scandal resulting from the arrest of five burglars in the office of the Democratic National Committee in June 1972, connected to President Richard Nixon’s reelection campaign. The burglars had been caught wiretapping phones and stealing documents and Nixon tried to cover the crime afterward.

Nixon, who was in trouble with justice, decided to resign to avoid impeachment in August 1974. And soon he was pardoned by Ford, the following President.
