Japan is a island country, or in other words an archipelago. Hence, it was hard for other imperial countries to invade Japan. Japan also isolated itself from the rest of civilization.
<em>It took around 10 years. The first attempt of Scott in Missouri court after trying to buy his freedom with the help of abolitionist groups and being unsuccessful, was in 1846. After many failed attempts, the case finally reached US Supreme Court in 1856 and decided in 1857, not in favor of Scott and his pursue of obtaining the rightful american citizenship. The judge decided that no individual of African descent, whether slave or free, had the right to appeal to Supreme Court.</em>
<span>Earlier to the 1800s, settlers had
to cross the United States by means of horses and wagons. By the early 1800s,
canals began to assist opening up the interior. In the late 1800s, the
railroads facilitated people settle down to earlier unreachable areas in the
west. By the 1900s, the U.S. federal highway system assisted people effortlessly
migrate through the country. </span>
