A pet store owner, Byron, needs to determine how much food he needs to feed the animals. Byron knows that he needs to order the

same amount of bird food as hamster food. He needs four times as much dog food as bird food and needs half the amount of cat food as dog food. If Byron orders 600 packages of animal food, how much dog food does he buy? Let b represent the number of packages of bird food Byron purchased for the pet store.

Answer:

He needs to buy 120 packages of dod food.

Step-by-step explanation:

b - bird food

h - hamster food

d - dog food

c - cat food

b + h + d + c = 600

b = h (bird food is the <em>same</em> as hamster food)

b = 4 d (bird food is <em>4 times</em> dod food)

c = d/2 (cat food is <em>half</em> dog food)

Total of packages ordered.

b + b + d + c = 600

4d + 4d + d + d/2 = 600

4 d + 4 d + d + d = 600. 2

10 d = 1.200

d= 120 .........the amount of dog food packages.

Write the sum using summation notation, assuming the suggested pattern continues. 1 - 3 + 9 - 27 + ...
meriva
There is no sum for this geometric series. it diverges rather than converges due to the absolute value of the common ratio (r), which is -3, being 3. for a geometric series to have a sum (to converge), the absolute value of r must be less than 1.
(you find r by dividing a2/a1, a3/a2, etc.)
hope this helps

Two kids at a summer camp, Tina and Winston, are competing in a potato sack race. Tina is younger, so she is given a head start
agasfer [191]

Answer:

It will take Winston 11 seconds to hop 44 meters and catch up to Tina

Step-by-step explanation:

Set up an equation where x represents the number of seconds:

Tina will be represented by s + 33 since she goes 1 m/sec and she has a 33 meter head start, and Winston will be 4s. We need to find when Winston will catch up, so we need an equal sign.

s + 33 = 4s

Solve for s:

s + 33 = 4s

33 = 3s

11 = s

= 11 seconds

Then, plug in 11 as s to find how many meters he will go:

s + 33

11 + 33 = 44

= 44 meters

Can't figure out this problem can anyone help if so thank you
Virty [35]

Answer:

10th term of the sequence = 0.537

Step-by-step explanation:

First three terms of the sequence are → 5, 4, \frac{16}{5}..........

Ratio of 2nd and 1st term of the sequence = \frac{4}{5}

Ratio of 3rd and 2nd term of the sequence = \frac{\frac{16}{5} }{4}

                                                                        = \frac{4}{5}

Therefore, ratio between every successive term to the previous term is common.

Common ratio 'r' = \frac{4}{5}

First term of the sequence 'a' = 5

nth term of a geometric sequence = a(r)^n

Therefore, nth term of the given term will be  T_n=5(\frac{4}{5})^n

Now we have to find the 10 term of the given sequence.

For n = 10,

T_{10}=5(\frac{4}{5})^{10}

      = 0.53687

      ≈ 0.537

Therefore, 10th term of the sequence is 0.537
