ww2 lasted so long because japn did not want to surrender and the bombing of pearl habor which caused the us who was not involved in the war to get involved and this is what caused the war to last so long.

The upper and middle class of merchants and bankers were very wealthy and they wanted to enjoy the pleasures of life on earth, not just focus on the afterlife. This created a gap in the market for quality artworks and music concerts etc. Artists, musicians and poets moved to Florence to fill this gap in the market.
