Ans17, Raj Street

Mumbai 65

Dear Friend,

Hope this letter finds you in the best of spirits. Recently I had been a trip to my native village and had some positive and negative experiences. Firstly the village is a place where complete peace of mind exists available from the hustle and bustle of life.

In village we can inhale the pure air and we feel fresh these are some advantages in villages.

You can enjoy the best of natural resources. Though the only drawback is that the use of technology is restricted, there is some lack in transportation facilities, lack of medical facilities. This is a real problem as we are used to it at a massive level.

Hope you will understand the advantages and disadvantages about village life.

Yours loving

No Compromise with the Evil of Slavery” by William Lloyd Garrison. How are the writer’s arguments in the two excerpts different?
soldi70 [24.7K]

Answer: The right answer is the C) The first excerpt makes a logical appeal, while the second excerpt makes an emotional appeal.

Explanation: Just to elaborate a little on the answer, it can be added that in the first excerpt the author is using a very forceful piece of evidence - a passage from the Declaration of Independence - to support his claim and convince his audience to do the same. However, in the second excerpt he is trying to get an emotional reaction from his readers by addressing them very passionately, boldly and persuasively. He is willing to reject the Declaration of Independence and to burn it, and he goes as far as to refer to slave owners as beasts or animals - those "other men" that "choose to go upon all fours." Furthermore, he is also willing to accuse "this nation" (and those are many people) of falsifying God's principles if they denounce him for following His example, and that must have been a very grave accusation at that time when he penned this terrific speech (1854).

The letter is being written by Keith. - passive

The boys will be sad to hear that the skate park closed. - active

The students were notified by Mrs. Tedesco that the quiz was postponed. - passive

Explanation:

In grammar, the term voice refers to the relationship between the action or state expressed by the verb and the participants of the sentence, such as the subject, object, and others. There are two voices in English:

 • The active voice - the sentence has a subject that acts upon its verb (e.g A boy is eating a sandwich).
 • The passive voice - the subject is the recipient of a verb's action (e.g. A sandwich is being eaten by a boy).

Based on this information, we can determine whether the given sentences are written in the active or passive voice.

Is 1/2 bigger than 2/3
Llana [10]
No, the 2/3 is bigger than 1/2. This being said there is no third that is equal to 2/3. You see when you put it in percents 1/2 is equal to 50%, and 2/3 is equal to 66%. 1/3 is 33%, 1/4 id 25%, 2/4 is equal to 1/2, 3/4 is 75%, and 4/4 and 3/3 are 100%. To make fractions easier see if they can turn into decimals or percents.
