In 1521 King Henry VIII (1509-1547) of England wrote a pamphlet against the Reformation Movement called<em> Declaration of the Seven Sacraments Against Martin Luther</em>.

This theological treatise aimed to disagree with Luther on his opinions about indulgences.

It is said although unproved that the Catholic humanist author Thomas More (1478-1535), famously known for his book Utopia (1516) that is one of the first novels in history to imagine a perfect land, helped in the writing of the <em>Declaration</em>.

Luther responded to the pamphlet in 1522 and was replied to by More in 1523.
