For extra batch of cookies sugar used = \frac{5}{8}

For this we will add both the fraction.

We have taken LCM of the denominator (4,8) and that is = (8)

= \frac{5+38}{8}

= \frac{43}{8}

= 5\frac{3}{8}

So our final answer is =\frac{43}{8} Or =5\frac{3}{8}
