What is the motivation behind Napoleon's actions in this excerpt
lianna [129]

In this excerpt, Napoleon's actions are due to the motivation driven by his feelings of disdain and hostility toward Snowball and his ideals. He intended to prevent other animals from learning about Snowball's plans for a windmill. This excerpt is from the chapter 'Animal Farm'.

 • Although the other animals were interested in the blueprints and went to examine them, Napoleon had always been opposed to them.
 • He had avoided them until one day, when he went to where the plans were, urinated over them, and then left.
 • He intended to prevent other animals from learning about Snowball's plans for a windmill.

Therefore, Napoleon's actions are due to the motivation driven by his feelings of disdain and hostility toward Snowball and his ideals. He desired to prevent other animals from learning about Snowball's plans for a windmill.

Which does the sentence contain?
Natali5045456 [20]

This question is incomplete, since it is missing the sentence we are supposed to analyze. I've found the complete question online. It is as follows:

"To the best of our knowledge, he decided that his major would be acting." Which does the sentence contain?

a) a conjunction

b) a gerund

c) an infinitive

d) a participle

Answer:

The sentence contains letter b) a gerund.

Explanation:

Gerunds are formed by adding -ing to verbs, but they function like nouns in a sentence.

In "To the best of our knowledge, he decided that his major would be acting," we have the verb "be" functioning as a linking verb, connecting the subject "major" to a word or words that provide information about that it. That word providing information on the subject is the gerund "acting", which therefore functions as a subject complement in this sentence.

I need someone to write me an essay on why a teenager should have a dirt bike
olasank [31]

Some things that are fun about dirt biking is the difficulty of riding. When someone keeps trying to do the same trick over and over. Then they finally get it just right then your heart would be pumping a mile a minute in excitement. Some people could try to do a trick and get hurt and not be able to ride anymore.

Another thing about dirt biking being fun. Is how everybody is so competitive over racing. There are different types of races. There is free style, pair racing, and then there is normal racing.

that’s why dirt biking is fun. The amount of continuous time spent on your dirt bike will help improve your cardiovascular health by improving your endurance. If an average ride on a dirt bike is an hour or more, you will be engaging the muscles in your legs and arms as well as increasing your heart rate continuously throughout the ride.Riding a dirt bike is a great physical activity that engages your whole body as well as your mind. Tell your parents that your reflexes will improve, you'll get plenty of exercise, and your mental acuity will be sharper
