First you do the numbers in the parentheses (1+2)=3 next you do the number outside of the parentheses 6 divided by 2 =3 so now you have 3 and 3, since you have two answers and there is no mathematic sign there to tell you what to do, you multiply. There for your answer is 9. I hope this helped and gave you a better understanding! ^-^

if you add 2 squares to the right side how many circles would you have to add to the right side to keep it balanced? please help
telo118 [61]

Answer:

  4 circles

Step-by-step explanation:

If you subract 3 squares from both sides, you end with 2 circles on the left and one square on the right. That is, 2 circles balance 1 square.

If you add 2 squares on the right, you need to add 2×2 = 4 circles on the left to balance them.

Find the area of an equilateral triangle (regular 3-gon) with the given measurement.
kow [346]

If the perimeter is 9 inches, each side is 3 inches.

The height of an equilateral triangle splits the triangle in two right sub-triangles: for example, consider a triangle ABC and the height AH starting from A, perpendicular to BC.

The triangle AHC is a right triangle, whose legs are AH and HC, and whose hypotenuse is AC.

AH is half the side, and AC is a side. So, we can use the Pythagorean theorem to find the height:

AH = \sqrt{AC^2-AH^2}=\sqrt{l^2-\dfrac{l^2}{4}}=\dfrac{\sqrt{3}l}{2}

So, the area is

\dfrac{AH\cdot HC}{2} = \dfrac{l\cdot\frac{\sqrt{3}l}{2}}{2} = \dfrac{l^2\sqrt{3}}{4} = \dfrac{9\sqrt{3}}{4}
