Anti-communist union movement--a non-government union created in Poland which rose up against the communist government of USSR. 

Poland was under the Warsaw Pact and therefore under the influence of the USSR. The USSR only allowed government sanctioned unions. Solidarity was created in opposition to communist and the lack of liberty found under USSR control.
