Simple...

you have: 8x-6y=1

You're trying to find m-->>using y=mx+b to re-write the line....

8x-6y=1

8x-6y=1
-8x      -8x

-6y=-8x+1

\frac{-6y}{-6} = \frac{-8x+1}{-6}

y=\frac{4}{3} x- \frac{1}{6}

Your slope m=\frac{4}{3} x

Thus, your answer.

What is the slope of the line passing through the points (−3, 4) and (4, −1)?
Igoryamba
Note:
The slope of a straight line passing through the points (x₁, y₁) and (x₂, y₂) is
m= \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}

The two given points are (-3,4) and (4,-1). Therefore the slope is
m= \frac{-1-4}{4-(-3)} = \frac{-5}{7}

Answer: - \frac{5}{7}
